William Thompson PhD, who is senior scientist with the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) has come forward and admitted that he and his colleagues omitted vital data from a 2004 study they did which found that African American boys who received the measles mumps rubella (MMR) vaccine before they were 3 years old had a 340% greater chance of developing autism!   They excluded many of the kids in that study using the excuse that those kids did not have valid Georgia birth certificates and by doing this they succeeded in eliminating the very damning statistical results.

On August 27, 2014, Dr. William Thompson issued a press release admitting what he and his colleagues had done.  He wrote: "I regret that my coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article published in the journal Pediatrics. The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before age 36 months were at increased risk for autism."   What they did was condemn countless African American boys to a life of autism.  In addition, an autistic child places a tremendous financial and emotional burden on the parents. 

Dr. William Thompson contacted Dr. Brian Hooker and encouraged him to re-examine the study that Thompson and his coauthors published 2004.  Dr. Hooker did just that and exposed the scandal in an article published in August 2014 in Translational Neurodegener. The article was entitled: "Measles-mumps-rubella vaccination timing and autism among young African American boys: a reanalysis of CDC data."  The CDC does not deny that data was excluded from that 2004 study based on non-valid Georgia Birth certificates, but they claim that it was necessary to identify the race of the children.  In an interview, Dr. Brian Hooker stated flatly: "Actually, the CDC's response is false… What they are saying is a lie."  He says that this is because the race of the children was known through their school records.  

As the first African American to publish a book on the controversies surrounding vaccines, I warned about the link between vaccines and autism back in 1991 in my book: Vaccines Are Dangerous.  In the second edition of my book, I provided even more extensive data on the links between vaccines and autism.  Despite giving lectures, interviews and organizing forums, the vaccine issue has never become a top priority in the African American community.  Consequently, countless Black parents suffer quietly when their child is stricken with autism or other conditions because they have no where to turn for alternative information.  The group: VaxFacts estimate that at least 250,000 African American boys may have contracted autism needlessly as a result of the 2004 CDC report.  The group admits that their estimate is very conservative.

This latest revelation about what the CDC did needs to become a rallying point for African Americans across the country.  African American leaders need to come together and demand an investigation.  The federal government needs to conduct an investigation into this matter and the multiple conflicts of interests that the CDC has with the drug companies.  There also needs to be an investigation into what other vaccines have a disproportionately adverse affect on African American children.

CNN is now overtly complicit in the mainstream media blackout of the developing story of CDC whistleblower Dr. William Thompson, who stepped forward and revealed that he had partaken in cooking data attempting to minimize the truth about the toxicity of the MMR vaccine in infants and the increased risk of developing autism.


Yesterday, on CNN’s “iReport” page, the story was posted.
As of late last night, the article had 45,232 views, 178 comments,( mostly people literally begging CNN and other media to cover it,) and a staggering 17 thousand shares.
This clearly is what we call “news worthy.”
However,  CNN has now deleted the story, claiming it was “flagged” for being “in violation” of iReport’s policy.  In violation of what?  CNN’s appeasement policies toward the vaccine industry?
CNN won’t allow the story of a whistleblower from a federal health agency who has admitted to falsifying a bedrock of data about vaccine safety, but it offered frothing, extensive coverage to Brian Deer’s claim’s that Dr. Andrew Wakefield’s 1998 Lancet paper was “fraudulent.” (The paper’s assertions–of a link between gastrointestinal illnesses, MMR, and autism– have subsequently been repeated in many other studies, and the paper’s lead author, who was funded to do to, went through the proper courts in the UK  and was vindicated.)

 CNN’s frothing pro-vaccine coverage, and systematic bullying of critics, such as Dr. Andrew Wakefield, who was “interviewed” by an unhinged Anderson Cooper here, in one of journalism’s lowest moments, points to a very disturbing development in American journalism.
The $52 billion vaccine industry ship, meanwhile, mighty as it is, is taking on water from escalating leaks.

STATEMENT OF WILLIAM W. THOMPSON, Ph.D., REGARDING THE 2004 ARTICLE EXAMINING THE POSSIBILITY OF A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MMR VACCINE AND AUTISM


My name is William Thompson.  I am a Senior Scientist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where I have worked since 1998.
I regret that my coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article published in the journal Pediatrics. The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before age 36 months were at increased risk for autism. Decisions were made regarding which findings to report after the data were collected, and I believe that the final study protocol was not followed.
 I want to be absolutely clear that I believe vaccines have saved and continue to save countless lives.  I would never suggest that any parent avoid vaccinating children of any race. Vaccines prevent serious diseases, and the risks associated with their administration are vastly outweighed by their individual and societal benefits.
My concern has been the decision to omit relevant findings in a particular study for a particular sub­ group for a particular vaccine. There have always been recognized risks for vaccination and I believe it is the responsibility of the CDC to properly convey the risks associated with receipt of those vaccines.

I have had many discussions with Dr. Brian Hooker over the last 10 months regarding studies the CDC has carried out regarding vaccines and neurodevelopmental outcomes including autism spectrum disorders. I share his belief that CDC decision-making and analyses should be transparent. I was not, however, aware that he was recording any of our conversations, nor was I given any choice regarding whether my name would be made public or my voice would be put on the Internet.  I am grateful for the many supportive e-mails that I have received over the last several days.

I will not be answering further questions at this time.  I am providing information to Congressman William Posey, and of course will continue to cooperate with Congress.  I have also offered to assist with reanalysis of the study data or development of further studies.  For the time being, however, I am focused on my job and my family.
Reasonable scientists can and do differ in their interpretation of information. I will do everything I can to assist any unbiased and objective scientists inside or outside the CDC to analyze data collected by the CDC or other public organizations for the purpose of understanding whether vaccines are associated with an increased risk of autism.  There are still more questions than answers, and I appreciate that so many families are looking for answers from the scientific community.


My colleagues and supervisors at the CDC have been entirely professional since this matter became public. In fact, I received a performance-based award after this story came out.  I have experienced no pressure or retaliation and certainly was not escorted from the building, as some have stated.
